Fire Ban

Saddleworth is in the Mid North Fire Ban District. Residents are requested to adhere to burning conditions imposed during the Fire Ban Season which is administered by the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council.

Fire Ban Season is from November 15th to April 30th. This may vary slightly from season to season so it is important to check with the Council Bushfire Prevention Officer - phone 88426400. It is also important to be aware of burning conditions for within the residential areas of the Council as they have recently changed. These conditions can be obtained from any of the Council Offices. Severe penalties apply for breaking these rules. During the Fire Ban Season there is to be no burning at all unless a permit has been issued by the Council and these permits come with very strict conditions and penalties.
