4.2 Risk Management

An assessment of the risks associated with the service delivery of the Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council’s Building networks have been undertaken by Council. The risk assessment process identifies credible risks, considers the likelihood of an event occurring and assesses the impact or consequence that would be caused by an event occurring. A risk rating system using a risk matrix of likelihood versus impact has been developed and a risk treatment plan to address nonacceptable risk will be developed. Critical risks assessed as being “Extreme” – requiring immediate corrective action and “High” – requiring prioritised corrective action will be identified and addressed in future revisions of the plan. Table 4.3 details the cost of remediating those buildings with a completed risk assessment at the time of developing this asset management plan. Council will consider the cost of these remediation works in its 2017/18 budget deliberations.
